The CD-1 is designed to deliver the best musical performance from your CD music collection. Based on the latest generation CD drawer loading platform from Philips it provides a stable, low-error, data recovery capability. This Philips platform is the foundation of the CD-1 playback system.

The Philips mechanism is modified to allow the drive to be slaved internally to our custom low-jitter clock. In this way the CD-1 behaves much like more expensive CD playback systems which slave the drive to an external clock housed with the Digital to Analog converter or to an external low-jitter clock. The low-jitter clock is contained within the CD-1 chassis, utilizing a separate regulated power supply and located adjacent to the DAC circuitry. This insures the lowest possible jitter performance for playback of your CD’s.

This low jitter clock drives a wide dynamic range, PCM1792 dual differential multi-bit delta-sigma DAC and true differential current to voltage conversion and filter circuits using specially selected ultra-precision resistors and a 90MHz bandwidth balanced, low-noise analog amplifiers. This combination insures that the CD-1 reproduces all of the subtle nuances encoded on the disc. The result is a sonic picture with unusually holographic imaging, robust dynamics and bass textures. The whole of these parts results in the most expressive reproduction of your CD music collection possible, raising CD reproduction well beyond previous expectation.

Custom multi-stage power supply regulator circuits, filters, digital output sections and balanced and single-ended output buffers complete the design to provide un-compromised performance and features.
